The practice was founded by RIBA Chartered Architect Ed Barker in 2014, and is based in the South Hams of Devon.

South West Studio has developed an excellent relationship with local planning departments, building contractors, specialist consultants, suppliers and craftspeople.  We bring together the best people to make your project a real success. 

Before establishing South West Studio, Ed was an Associate at a renowned London practice specialising in high-end residential, retail, hotel and restaurant projects. Prior to this, Ed practiced and studied in Australia which established his love of a relaxed, outdoor lifestyle, and architecture that is connected to the landscape and context.  We now bring this experience to projects in the unique landscape and lifestyle of South West England.

Projects typically undertaken include:

1. Residential: new-build houses, refurbishments and extensions, contemporary updates to listed buildings.

2. Commercial: restaurants, hotels, tourism and retail.

3. Interiors and spatial design.
